Inspired by Nature: Why Preservation Matters in Our Modern World

About the Exhibition

Inspired by Nature: Why Preservation Matters in Our Modern World is an exhibit that focuses on three areas: Birds of Our Region, Biomimicry Inspired by Nature, and Caring for Our Collections.

Birds of Our Region highlights that members of the same animal group have the same parts, but can have different appearances. All of the birds represented share certain traits like beaks, feet, and feathers.

Biomimicry Inspired by Nature describes how scientists develop innovation in technology and sustainability, and solve human challenges
by studying nature.

Caring for Our Collections showcases the museum’s biology collections as libraries that support species identification and aid research in public health, climate change, agriculture, vector-borne diseases, biodiversity, and genetics.
