From backyard gardens to vast fields, agriculture shapes the food we eat and the landscapes around us. Join Gloria from Sprout and Blossom in the STEAM Outdoor Classroom for All About Agriculture, a hands-on program designed for children and their families.
In this engaging outdoor session, young learners will explore the basics of farming and food production—how crops are grown, what plants need to thrive, and how people and the land work together. Through observation, guided activities, and discussion, families will gain a deeper understanding of where food comes from and why agriculture matters in our daily lives.
STEAM Outdoors invites children and families to step outside and explore the living world through hands-on learning and creative discovery. SBCM is excited to partner with Sprout and Blossom for this monthly program that connects science, nature, and art through lessons on gardening, food systems, insects, and the beauty of the natural world. Each session encourages curiosity, care for the Earth, and an understanding of how people and nature are deeply connected—an essential chapter in the story of us.
STEAM Outdoors takes place once each month and is offered in two sessions:
Participation is free with general museum admission. Space is limited to 20 children per session and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
