Join our educators in the Hall of Biodiversity during Beasts and Bones for hands-on fossil exploration and sensory play. Guests can examine fossils up close, explore natural history through tactile activities and enjoy a calming experience inspired by prehistoric life.

Sensory Hours offer a calmer way to experience the San Bernardino County Museum. During this time, lighting is softened and the museum environment is quieter to create a more comfortable, low-sensory setting for visitors who prefer a gentler museum experience.

Sensory Hours are especially welcoming for individuals with sensory sensitivities, including those on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing differences, but they are open to anyone who enjoys exploring the museum in a more relaxed atmosphere.

Each month, the museum’s education team hosts hands-on sensory activities in a different exhibit hall. These guided experiences may include tactile exploration, art activities, or opportunities to interact with natural materials connected to the museum’s collections. Activities vary each month and are designed to encourage curiosity, discovery and playful learning in a supportive environment.

• Museum members are free
