About
The Victor Valley Museum maintains and develops a unique cultural and natural science collection related to the High Desert that includes geological and paleontological specimens, Native American artifacts, and historical objects. Founded in 1976 to honor the U.S. Bicentennial, the museum was created in the halls of the Victorville courthouse until moving to its current site in Apple Valley in 1992. Since 2010, the Victor Valley Museum has been a branch of the San Bernardino County Museum system.
Curious City!
Discover your own backyard through programs and exhibits about the cultural and natural heritage of the High Desert. Preschoolers can explore their own backyard in Curious CITY! Curious City! is a hands-on environment that encourages pretend play in a kid-sized small town. Motor skills, learning, and social interactions are encouraged in an atmosphere of fun, imagination, and make-believe. Building structures, games, puzzles, art and reading activities contribute to the development of age-level skills. As a space separate from the museum’s other exhibits, younger children can safely play without the tumult that can occur when the room is shared with older children.

Families can enjoy on-site themed art projects every month through Second Saturdays at the Victor Valley Museum (VVM) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. VVM Curator of Engagement Tiffany Talavera shared, “It’s very educational and eye-opening to see the children having fun while learning something new and to see the amount of energy they have is so cheerful; plus, it is a great opportunity for parents and kids to share time doing something new together! We are looking forward to continuing and expanding our offerings with Second Saturdays.”
