Hall of Biodiversity brings opportunity to get up close with over 100 regional bird species
The San Bernardino County Museum is thrilled to announce the redesigned exhibition located in the Hall of Biodiversity. The gallery tells new stories under the common thread of the variety and beauty in nature and how it stimulates us, impacts our environment, and ultimately influences our region and thus our daily lives.
Curator of Integrated Sciences, Jessika Vázquez, shares the intent behind the halls update. “It was important to further the narrative on the rich biodiversity of San Bernardino County and doing so by highlighting how the natural world has inspired the world we have constructed for ourselves. We have these astounding collections that tell even more incredible stories about our region and our community.”
Scientific topics are often viewed as daunting and it’s our goal to connect our community to these topics by demonstrating the connections that exist. We look forward to continuing this story in different ways that illustrate the relevancy of museums while at the same time inviting inclusion and accessibility to our community through our exhibits.
The San Bernardino County Museum’s exhibits of regional, cultural and natural history and the Museum’s other exciting events and programs reflect the effort by the Board of Supervisors to achieve the Countywide Vision by celebrating arts, culture, and education in the county, creating quality of life for residents and visitors.
