Sacred Earth
About the Exhibition
Sacred Earth presents extraordinary local artifacts and tells the stories of the Serrano, Cahuilla, and Chemehuevi people. Sacred Earth was collaboratively developed in partnership with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, and interprets the early migration and culture of the Inland Empire’s indigenous communities through archaeological and ethnographic objects, highlighting the Serrano Communities. In this exhibit, visitors can be immersed in the development of native culture over time, understanding both cultural and archaeological stories, spanning to the current day, to provide a clear understanding of a contemporary, and thriving culture.
