Crossing the Cosmos

About the Exhibition

Just like local Native American communities and other cultures around the globe, Mesoamerican cultural heritage is created by people and reflects their beliefs, customs and rituals. While many Mesoamerican groups were literate and had writing, there was a strong emphasis placed on the auditory world, one that the visual world (like written language) simply could not match. In this exhibit, visitors can explore music with our 3D touchscreen, where you can research and play your own Mesoamerican musical instrument.
