In March, STEAM Outdoors explores plant medicine and the ways people have long turned to plants for healing and care. Children will learn how plants support well-being, discover how knowledge of plant uses is passed down through generations, and explore the connection between nature and health. Through hands-on learning, this session highlights how understanding plants has shaped the story of us—rooted in observation, tradition, and respect for the natural world.
A Hands-On Nature Program for Curious Young Learners
STEAM Outdoors invites children and families to step outside and explore the living world through hands-on learning and creative discovery. SBCM is excited to partner with Sprout and Blossom for this monthly program that connects science, nature, and art through lessons on gardening, food systems, insects, and the beauty of the natural world. Each session encourages curiosity, care for the Earth, and an understanding of how people and nature are deeply connected—an essential chapter in the story of us.
STEAM Outdoors takes place once each month and is offered in two sessions:
Participation is free with general museum admission. Space is limited to 20 children per session and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
