What can we learn from the shoreline? Join Gloria from Sprout and Blossom in the STEAM Outdoor Classroom for Beach Life, a hands-on exploration designed for children and their families.

In this interactive session, young learners will explore how life thrives where land meets water.

Through observation, discussion, and guided activities, families will connect science and nature while building a deeper understanding of environmental stewardship.

STEAM Outdoors invites children and families to step outside and explore the living world through hands-on learning and creative discovery. SBCM is excited to partner with Sprout and Blossom for this monthly program that connects science, nature, and art through lessons on gardening, food systems, insects, and the beauty of the natural world. Each session encourages curiosity, care for the Earth, and an understanding of how people and nature are deeply connected—an essential chapter in the story of us.

STEAM Outdoors takes place once each month and is offered in two sessions:

• 10:30–11:15 a.m.
• 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m.

Participation is free with general museum admission. Space is limited to 20 children per session and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
