We’re bugging out! Join our educators in our Hall of Biodiversity as they facilitate our biology cart to learn more about our tiny friends, insects! Visitors will have the chance to see one-a-kind displays of insects from our education collections and learn more about insect life cycles. The buggy fun continues with our companion insect craft.
Sensory Hours offer a calmer way to experience the San Bernardino County Museum. During this time, lighting is softened and the museum environment is quieter to create a more comfortable, low-sensory setting for visitors who prefer a gentler museum experience.
Sensory Hours are especially welcoming for individuals with sensory sensitivities, including those on the autism spectrum or with sensory processing differences, but they are open to anyone who enjoys exploring the museum in a more relaxed atmosphere.
Each month, the museum’s education team hosts hands-on sensory activities in a different exhibit hall. These guided experiences may include tactile exploration, art activities, or opportunities to interact with natural materials connected to the museum’s collections. Activities vary each month and are designed to encourage curiosity, discovery and playful learning in a supportive environment.
