STEAM Saturdays invite families to join the Museum Education team in our STEAM Lab for simple, hands-on activation activities designed especially for younger children. Each Saturday offers an engaging opportunity for children to explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through play, creativity, and guided discovery.
In April, we invite families to become Museum Detectives, uncovering hidden clues and cracking secret messages through hands-on STEAM Lab activities. Throughout the month, children can explore invisible ink, create cipher wheels, practice secret code spelling, and even design their own secret codes. These activities are intentionally designed to support early learning, strengthen problem-solving skills, and spark curiosity about how people communicate, record information, and uncover meaning—encouraging observation, critical thinking, and discovery in an age-appropriate, welcoming environment.
• April 4: Invisible Ink
• April 11: Cipher Wheel
• April 18: Secret Code Spelling
• April 25: Create Your Own Secret Code
STEAM Lab activities take place during regular STEAM Lab hours and are included with general admission.
