DESCRIPTION:If creepy crawlies don’t give you the creeps\, then Arthropolooza: The Ultimate Bugfest will. Join us on Saturday\, March 4\, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Victor Valley Museum to celebrate all things creepy\, crawly\, sticky\, prickly\, wiggly\, yucky\, and kind of cute.\n\nThe days will be filled with festivities that highlight arthropods as well as a great opportunity for families to have a good time together to develop a love of nature!\n\nGeneral admission is $10 (adult)\, $8 (military or senior)\, $7 (student)\, and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Children five and under and Museum Association members are admitted free. Parking is free. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities.

DESCRIPTION:The Victor Valley Museum is pleased to announce the opening of a brand new exhibit\, George Air Force Base: Commemorating Its Legacy 30 Years Later\, Dec. 10\, 2022 through Jun. 11\, 2023. The High Desert has a long history of community dedication\, honor\, and service. George Air Force Base played a significant role in that history\, and it continues to leave a lasting influence\, even thirty years after its closure. This exhibit will commemorate the lasting legacy of the base and honor those who served. We invite the general public for an exhibit opening reception scheduled for Sat. Dec. 10\, 2022\, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. General admission is $10 (adult)\, $8 (military or senior)\, $7 (student)\, and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Children five and under as well as Museum Association members are free. Victor Valley Museum is at 11873 Apple Valley Road in Apple Valley. Parking is free and the museum is accessible to persons with disabilities.

The event takes place outdoors\, weather permitting\, and guests are advised to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Museum galleries will be open during the event and regular admission applies.\n\nBased at the Luz Observatory in Apple Valley\, HiDAS was formed to provide trained\, volunteer astronomers to operate and maintain the Center’s astronomical equipment. The evenings feature telescope viewing\, an opportunity to discuss astronomy with the telescope operators\, and visitors are also encouraged to bring binoculars or set up their own telescopes.  Tickets can be purchased in advance here.
