DESCRIPTION:The Victor Valley Museum is now offering Quiet Hour at the museum from 10 to 11 a.m. on select Thursdays. This time is dedicated to creating a calmer\, quieter museum experience. We remain open to the public during this time\, and all are welcome to visit the museum. During this time\, specific exhibit features in the museum will be turned off to minimize audio and visual stimulation. We recommend an hour for your visit\, so you can fully enjoy the exhibits\, gardens\, and museum store.  All exhibits will be fully turned on at 11 a.m. Admission purchased during sensory-friendly quiet hours is the same as standard admission and applies to the entire day. The store will open at 10 a.m. on Quiet Hour mornings.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for Cosmic Nights with the High Desert Astronomical Society (HiDAS) featuring telescope viewing. The event takes place outdoors\, weather permitting\, and guests are advised to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Museum galleries will be open during the event. General admission is $10 (adult)\, $8 (military or senior)\, $7 (student)\, and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Children five and under are free. Museum Foundation members receive a 50% discount on admission. Parking is free. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. Based at the Luz Observatory in Apple Valley\, HiDAS was formed to provide trained\, volunteer astronomers to operate and maintain the Center’s astronomical equipment. The evenings feature telescope viewing\, an opportunity to discuss astronomy with the telescope operators\, and visitors are also encouraged to bring binoculars or set up their own telescopes.

DESCRIPTION:Join us on Nov. 18 for Second Saturdays with Slime Time! Museum staff are passionate about activating their visitors’ senses with a physical product\, like slime\, to keep them mesmerized with this unforgettable (and slimy) experience with their family! Families can enjoy on-site themed art projects every month through Second Saturdays at the Victor Valley Museum (VVM) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join us on the second Saturday of each month for an exciting hands-on art workshop for the entire family. Themes change each month so be sure to visit the website for current details.\n\n\nRegular museum admission applies. General admission is $10 (adult)\, $8 (military or senior)\, $7 (student)\, and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Museum Association members and children five and under are free. Museum galleries will be open during the event. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities and parking is free.

DESCRIPTION:Victor Valley Museum announces the opening of its newest exhibition\, “Ahead of His Time: The Life and Art of Ramón Contreras” which will feature five exclusive works of art and a large-scale mural by Mexican muralist and artist Ramón Contreras this Thursday\, June 22nd with a FREE evening reception sponsored by SBCM Association Board Member\, Manny Serrano from 5 to 7 p.m. The evening will include dancing by Ballet Folklorico Tierra Flor Y Canto\, music by Mariachi Rayos Del Sol\, complimentary balloon art by Matt Babajan\, and aguas frescas and food from Aguas Compita y Teriyaki for purchase. Museum admission for this reception is FREE thanks to the support of the High Desert Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

DESCRIPTION:We are looking for talented artists to participate in the High Desert Open Arts Exhibition hosted by Victor Valley Museum in collaboration with our partner\, Arts Connection. Call for Artist submissions now being accepted now through June 4\, 2023. Victor Valley Museum and Arts Connection welcomes submissions from high desert artists and students for the upcoming High Desert Open Arts Exhibition from July 8 through October 8\, 2023. Students and artists can enter in multiple categories but are limited to one piece per category. Artists and students will need to submit one submission form per category. Categories include painting\, printmaking/graphic design\, drawing\, mixed media\, textile\, photography\, and sculpture.
