SUMMARY:Second Saturday: Seed Bombs
DESCRIPTION:This April\, Victor Valley Museum invites families to get hands-on with a simple\, nature-inspired craft that turns small actions into blooming results. \nDuring this Second Saturday program\, children will make seed bombs—homemade balls filled with poppy seeds that can be taken home and planted to grow a flower garden in minutes. This tactile activity introduces kids to planting\, growth\, and the idea that caring for the natural world can begin with something small. \nSeed bombs are a fun and approachable way for young visitors to connect with plants and observe how seeds transform over time. Families will leave with a creative project in hand and the excitement of watching something they made come to life. \nSecond Saturdays are relaxed\, drop-in programs designed for families to explore\, create\, and learn together in a welcoming museum setting.

SUMMARY:Second Saturday: Bug Crafts
DESCRIPTION:Insects are some of the smallest inhabitants of our world\, yet they play some of the biggest roles in our shared ecosystem. This March\, Victor Valley Museum invites families to take a closer look at the fascinating world of bugs—just in time for Bug Fest. \nFor this month’s Second Saturday\, children will create bug-themed crafts\, inspired by the incredible diversity\, forms\, and behaviors of insects. From pollinators to decomposers\, insects help shape our environment and our history. This activity gently introduces the idea that even the smallest creatures are part of a much larger story—one we all share. \nSecond Saturdays are designed to be relaxed\, welcoming experiences where families can create together\, explore curiosity\, and connect with science and culture in meaningful ways—reminding visitors that their stories live here.

SUMMARY:Second Saturday: Birds
DESCRIPTION:February invites us to slow down\, reflect\, and consider how small gestures can carry deep meaning. \nJoin us for a Second Saturday inspired by National Bird Feeding Month. Kids will create an owl flying craft and a simple bird feeder. Feeding birds is a simple act that can teach children to be more conscientious about birds\, their habitats\, and how people and wildlife share the same spaces. \nSecond Saturdays are designed to be relaxed\, welcoming\, and accessible\, offering families an opportunity to create together while engaging with the museum in a meaningful way.

SUMMARY:Second Saturdays: Rock Painting
DESCRIPTION:Every story has a beginning—and sometimes it starts with a stone. \nAs part of our seasonal campaign\, The Story of Us\, Victor Valley Museum invites families to explore how even the smallest objects can hold meaning\, memory\, and imagination. Rocks connect us to the land beneath our feet\, to time\, and to one another—and through creativity\, they become storytellers. \nDuring this hands-on Second Saturday program\, children are invited to paint and decorate their own rocks\, transforming natural materials into personal works of art. This relaxed\, drop-in activity encourages creativity\, self-expression\, and a sense of belonging—reminding young artists that their stories live here\, too.
