DESCRIPTION:We are looking for talented artists to participate in the High Desert Open Arts Exhibition hosted by Victor Valley Museum in collaboration with our partner\, Arts Connection. Call for Artist submissions now being accepted now through June 4\, 2023. Victor Valley Museum and Arts Connection welcomes submissions from high desert artists and students for the upcoming High Desert Open Arts Exhibition from July 8 through October 8\, 2023. Students and artists can enter in multiple categories but are limited to one piece per category. Artists and students will need to submit one submission form per category. Categories include painting\, printmaking/graphic design\, drawing\, mixed media\, textile\, photography\, and sculpture.

SUMMARY:Ahead of His Time: The Life and Art of Ramón Contreras Exhibit Opening
DESCRIPTION:Victor Valley Museum announces the opening of its newest exhibition\, “Ahead of His Time: The Life and Art of Ramón Contreras” which will feature five exclusive works of art and a large-scale mural by Mexican muralist and artist Ramón Contreras this Thursday\, June 22nd with a FREE evening reception sponsored by SBCM Association Board Member\, Manny Serrano from 5 to 7 p.m. The evening will include dancing by Ballet Folklorico Tierra Flor Y Canto\, music by Mariachi Rayos Del Sol\, complimentary balloon art by Matt Babajan\, and aguas frescas and food from Aguas Compita y Teriyaki for purchase. Museum admission for this reception is FREE thanks to the support of the High Desert Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Museum Association members receive a 50% discount on admission. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities.\n\nBased at the Luz Observatory in Apple Valley\, HiDAS was formed to provide trained\, volunteer astronomers to operate and maintain the Center’s astronomical equipment.
