DESCRIPTION:Join us for an African Textile Stamping workshop hosted by Theresa Polley-Shellcroft and T. Faye Griffin inspired by Deborah McDuff William’s exhibit\, ‘Stolen Identities: River Routes to Freedom.’ Two workshops available: 11am-12:15pm & 12:30-2pm. Learn about the images in Sankofa\, an expression of Twi language from Ghana. Understand about the artistry of using Ghana Adinkra symbols to create your own message of inspiration and hope. Both sessions will cover fabric and paper stamping. Materials and aprons will be provided.

The event takes place outdoors\, weather permitting\, and guests are advised to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. Museum galleries will be open during the event. General admission is $10 (adult)\, $8 (military or senior)\, $7 (student)\, and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Children five and under are free. Museum Foundation members receive a 50% discount on admission. Parking is free. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. The partnership helps SBVAA\, founded in 1958\, achieve their goal of introducing the community to astronomy\, to organize amateur astronomers in the San Bernardino Valley area\, and to increase knowledge and excitement in astronomy.
