DESCRIPTION:Learn more about the health benefits of mushrooms and why they are good for us. You will also have the opportunity to receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the new exhibit\, Mushrooms: Keys to the Kingdom Fungi.\n\nMuseum will be open\, regular admission applies. General admission is $10 (adult)\, $8 (military or senior)\, $7 (student)\, and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Children five and under and museum members are free. Parking is free. The museum is accessible to persons with disabilities.\n\nAbout the Mycologist:\nBriana Boaz fell in love with fungi while attending the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry (SUNY ESF). She then completed a Master’s at UC Berkeley\, researching plant ecology\, mycology\, and soil science. She studied the symbiotic mycorrhizal fungi of pine species such as invasive lodgepole pines in New Zealand and ancient bristlecone pines in the White Mountains of California (oldest living organism in the world!). Briana is currently the Natural Resources Professor & Program Coordinator at Santa Rosa Junior College in Sonoma County. When not professing\, she enjoys hiking\, backpacking\, and mushroom hunting.
