Dillard – Grief advocate and founder of Off The Chain Alliance\, whose work centers on healing\, compassion\, and support for individuals navigating loss. \nNikki Nichole Granger – Author of Seven 7 Keys: It’s a Movement!\, entrepreneur\, and philanthropist focused on intentional living and expanding access to opportunity through business and nonprofit leadership. \nJayne Kennedy – Award-winning author\, producer\, and pioneering sportscaster. DESCRIPTION:Handle with Care\, a special project of the MexiCali Biennial program\, Land of Milk and Honey\, exhibit researches and explores the use of the Opuntia\, a genus in the family of Cactaceae that includes the prickly pear cactus (nopal)\, as an alternative resource in the struggle against climate change. By exploring the historical\, cultural\, and biological uses of the cactus\, alternative ideas for its use present themselves to help mitigate the effects of weather-related phenomena due to climate change. \nWe invite our visitors to a FREE exhibit opening reception on Saturday\, February 4th from 5-7pm. Abe Sanchez\, from Chia Café\, will be doing a nopal tortilla demonstration. \nThe museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. Parking is free.

DESCRIPTION:The Victor Valley Museum is pleased to announce the opening of a brand new exhibit\, George Air Force Base: Commemorating Its Legacy 30 Years Later\, Dec. 10\, 2022 through Jun. 11\, 2023. The High Desert has a long history of community dedication\, honor\, and service. George Air Force Base played a significant role in that history\, and it continues to leave a lasting influence\, even thirty years after its closure. This exhibit will commemorate the lasting legacy of the base and honor those who served. We invite the general public for an exhibit opening reception scheduled for Sat. Dec. 10\, 2022\, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. General admission is $10 (adult)\, $8 (military or senior)\, $7 (student)\, and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Children five and under as well as Museum Association members are free. Victor Valley Museum is at 11873 Apple Valley Road in Apple Valley. Parking is free and the museum is accessible to persons with disabilities.
