Victor Valley Museum's Second Saturday's Summer Solstice Chalk Walk

The Victor Valley Museum is kicking off the summer season with a burst of color and creativity during its upcoming Second Saturdays program. On Saturday, June 14, families, budding artists, and museumgoers of all ages are invited to take part in a summer solstice chalk walk — a one-day event celebrating the longest day of the year through sidewalk art, sunshine, frozen treats, and community fun.

The chalk walk, held outdoors at the museum’s outdoor space, invites guests to transform the sidewalk into canvas. Participants can draw freely or contribute to collaborative summer solstice-themed murals inspired by nature, science, and summer solstice traditions. Chalk is provided, and all skill levels are welcome.

In addition to the chalk art experience, the museum has partnered with Kona Ice of Victor Valley so that guests can enjoy frozen treats at an additional cost.

Second Saturdays at the museum is a monthly program designed to engage families and curious minds through hands-on activities that reflect the museum’s mission to celebrate the cultural and natural history of the High Desert region.

Victor Valley Museum is located at 11873 Apple Valley Road in Apple Valley. The museum is open Wednesdays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. General admission is $10 (adult), $8 (military or senior), $7 (student), and $5 (child ages 6 to 12). Children five and under and museum members are admitted free. Parking is free and the museum is accessible to people with disabilities.
